Central Virginia Workforce Development Board Meeting – July 9, 2024: The Central Virginia Workforce Development Board will meet on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, located at 300 Lucado Place; Lynchburg, VA 24504. Career Development Workshops: Virginia Career Works offers multiple workshops each week to help with your career development! Topics include resume writing, interviewing skills, budgeting, time management, and so much more. All of our workshops are free to attend! Sessions led by Jeff Bennett are held most weekdays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Life Skills Institute, located on the lower level of The Plaza shopping center in Lynchburg (2323 Memorial Avenue; Lynchburg, VA 24501). Hiring Event – May 21: We’re assembling a large group of employers in one place! Apply for openings with more than 18 employers at a Hiring Event on Tuesday, May 21, from 10AM – 2PM at the Virginia Career Works Lynchburg Center, 3125 Odd Fellows Rd. in Lynchburg. Participating employers include: Aerofin, Allied Universal, Banker Steel, Bausch + Lomb, Bedford Weaving, BGF Industries, Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority, Buffalo Air Handling, BWX Technologies, Cintas, City of Lynchburg, Foster Fuels, Horizon Behavioral Health, People Ready, Royal Farms, and Westover Dairy/Kroger.
